We are committed to the long-term care and support of our legatees, spouse or child, throughout their lives, by offering a range of financial and emotional support. PLT assist the eligible* dependant families of deceased serving, former serving and retired members. How We Assist
Police Legacy Tasmania assists our legatees, with not only with emotional support and guidance but financial support. PLT helps our legatee families to feel connected to the police community and each other.
Education and Training Benefits
Education Benefit is an annual benefit to assist with costs associated with schooling from pre-school to secondary schooling.
Higher Education and Assisted Living Benefit assists with Higher Education courses including tuition/course fees, levies, textbooks and stationery and technology requirements. This benefit may also support legatees with costs associated with studying away from home.
Other assistance offered includes help attaining a motor vehicle licence and lessons, preparation of a resume to assist with seeking employment and tools uniforms that may be needed.
Other Benefits and Grants
Christmas and Birthday Gifts all our legatees receive a birthday and Christmas gift until they turn 18.
Rob Cooke Memorial Grant is designed to assist legatees in establishing themselves in their formative adult years with Grants gifted to them for their 18th and 21st Birthdays.
